Godfrey Street Community House (GSCH) has been a part of the Bentleigh community for over 40 years.
While we now benefit from the consistency of employed managers, funded by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing, volunteers are still an integral part of neighbourhood houses, including ours.
The Committee of Management (CoM) at GSCH is a group of enthusiastic volunteers, representing a cross-section of our local community. Our CoM share a commitment to supporting and strengthening our community through ensuring the stability of the Community House.
The core role of the CoM is governance, focussing on:
· the organisation’s purpose
· the setting and monitoring of strategic goals and direction
· the establishment and maintenance of operational policies
· and ensuring that the legal and compliance obligations are met.
The office bearers of the Committee are the President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer, supported by General Committee members.
Committee meetings are held of an evening on a monthly basis and the Annual General Meeting is normally held during November of each year.
